Fleta Goffinet

	Fleta Goffinet, 71, of 412 N. Commercial St., Benton, died at 3:08 a.m. Sunday, February 27, 2005 at the Franklin Hospital, Benton.
	A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2005 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Joseph Trapp officiating.  Burial will be in the Masonic & Odd Fellows Cemetery, Benton.  Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home, with a prayer service conducted at 7:30 p.m.
	Mrs. Goffinet was born Sept. 26, 1933 in DuQuoin, the daughter of Ed and Frances (McDonald) Poiter.   She married Doyle Goffinet on Feb. 20, 1954 and he preceded her in death on April 13, 1994.
	She worked as a teller at the Bank of America prior to her retirement.  She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Benton, Boneyard Boccie Club, and was also active with the Benton Elks.  She loved playing cards with her friends and winning at bingo.
	She is survived by three sons, Jeff Goffinet and wife Diane, Carterville, Phil Goffinet and wife Raynee, Macedonia, Mike Goffinet and wife Lorrie, Ewing, one daughter, Felicia and husband Frank Cairel, Logan, six grandchildren, Aaron, Xander, Nick, and Hannah Goffinet, Kirsten and Bailee Cairel, one brother, Chuck Poiter and wife Phyllis, DuQuoin, one sister, Frances and husband Bob Stewart, DuQuoin, a very special friend, Gene Degenhardt, DuQuoin, and several nieces and nephews.
	Mrs. Goffinet was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
	Memorial contributions may be made to the St. John the Baptist School, West Frankfort, Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Carterville, or Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be accepted at the funeral home.
